CAPD SUPPORT
GROUP The
CAPD Support Group was started about 6 years ago. It's purpose is to enable
patients to meet one another over a cup of tea and a biscuit and maybe help one
another by exchanging experiences and sharing problems.
Meetings are
held about once every three or four months and usually in The Conference Room
of the Post Graduate Centre, R.C.H. Treliske, Truro. The Post Graduate Centre
is opposite the Accident and Emergency entrance. Specialist speakers are
invited to give short talks on a wide range of topics which are of interest to
CAPD patients.
The meetings are friendly, informal and definately well
worth attending. The Support Group is not a fund raising group and there is no
fee involved.
The CAPD Support Group is
run by Keith Davie who kindly gives of his time to arrange the meetings and
invite the various speakers. Because of the need for patient confidentiality
the Hospital staff are unable to tell Keith who the patients are. The Renal
staff give out the information that there is CAPD Support Group. If you wish to
join please contact Keith :
Mr. Keith H. Davie Trengilly

About once a year Keith sends out a general
informative letter which the Hospital posts to all CAPD patients inviting them
to join the Group. Keith telephones members about two weeks before each meeting
to give details and find out out how many cups of tea are needed!!
Keith
would very much like to welcome new members to this friendly and informative
group and requests any suggestions or ideas from any source that would improve
the function of the group and be helpful to CAPD Patients. .
Please come
along and give your support. |
