Preparation For Solo Exchange Procedure Baxter

1. Collect equipment - 7 Items, ensure your catheter is outside
clothing. 2 Wash Hands 3 Clean Surface 4
Open the bag 5 Uncoil tubing (lines) 6 Open Connection Shield 7
Apply Hand Rub 8 Remove coloured pull ring 9
Apply shield to end of tubing (lines) CONNECT
:- 10 Remove Minicap 11 Attach bags to your catheter by screwing
together 12 Place empty bag on floor & Hang full bag up DRAIN :- 13 Open twist clamp 14 WAIT until all the
fluid is drained out, ensuring the drain line is cold FLUSH :- 15 Close the twist clamp 16 Place a blue
clamp on the drain line 17 Break green seal both ways 18 Open blue clamp,
count 15 seconds and close blue clamp FILL
:- 19 Open twist clamp on your catheter and drain new fluid in 20
When the bag is empty close twist clamp 21 Place the 2nd blue clamp on the
line from thenew bag DISCONNECT :- 22 Open
cap packet, apply hand rub, and disconnect the
lines from your catheter. Carefully apply the Minicap. |
